Aarhus might not be the capital of Denmark, but it has a very lively nightlife. It's a city full of students, so it's quite normal to have so many options on how to spend your evening.
You can choose between clubs, each one with its own style, bars, to drink from morning until late night, bars with the weirdest beers, or even places to just relax or combine everything.
The bars are everywhere in this town, because Danes really love to drink.
1. Herr Bartels
This was my favorite one. It had beautiful and tasty cocktails. It also had offers, so you could drink two cocktails for the price of one. The bar is a bit narrow and you might not find a seat easily, but it's totally worth it.
2. Mig og Ølsnedkeren
If you are a beer lover, you should deffinitely visit this bar. They have many different types and even if you have no clue what you are doing (like me), the guys in the bar will help you figure it out.
I am not a big fun of beer actually, but I really liked the place. Also, if you go early it might be quite empty, you are really lucky then!
3. Escobar
If you want to enjoy some rock music, this is the right place! The problem is that a lot of people smoke in there and it is usually really packed. You might end up next to the door just standing (it is not a good place to be when it's freezing outside).
4. Vinstuen
A nice choice, if you want to start drinking early. I spent many hours in there my first days playing Maya (a game of dice, deceiving and drinking). They play a lot of different types of music, like The Dark Side of the Moon from Mulan, which is an anthem to them from what I learned.
In that bar, I decided that I love the Danes and I don't want to leave.
5. Tir na no'g
Buy your burger from Burger Shack and then enjoy your drink. It is a huge place, so you won't feel like chocking from the people in there. They also have a great festival during St. Patrick's day, that you should go enjoy.
6. Cafe under masken
It was one of my first bars in Aarhus. I loved the place! It was creepy and dark and I just loved the decoration. The problem is that it's a small space, so they smoke inside, and you just die slowly in there.
Once in a while your body is asking to dance! That's when you look around for the right club. Aarhus has also many clubs, perfect for each ocasion!
Tip: Most of the clubs will ask for an ID when the croud is crazy!
1. Studentrhus
If you are a student in Aarhus, you have to go to at least one party at the Student House! They are not perfect, but they are fun. Especially the Erasmus party was amazing but you need to dance, otherwise you'll die of boredom.
2. Gbar
We couldn't stop going to this bar. It had uplifting music and the rest of the croud created a fun atmoshphere that made you wanna dance! (Also go before 12, so you won't pay an entrance fee)
3. Hekkenfeldt
Or as I call it the Flamingo Cocktail bar. It is on Skolegade and it has flamingos on the door. It has great prices and offers for cocktails. It also has a lot of room to dance with your friends (or strangers).
4. The Australian Bar
It is one of the most famous clubs in Aarhus, but it's not worth the waiting line. If you want to go, just go early, but you need to pay the entrance.
5. East of paradise cinema
It might seem weird to have a club above a cinema, and also the people hanging out there might seem strange. Don't hesitate to visit, though! I think it was one of the coolest clubs I've been in Aarhus. It had good music, great decoration and quite good drinks.
