After I lived in Aarhus for 6 months, I ate in many places, different types of food. I loved many places, some of them were quite cheap for when I had no money, but in this list I will mention the ones I really loved.
1. Paradis ice cream
It was a bit cold for an ice cream, but we still needed one. We decided to visit it, because when the sun was shining the Danes would form huge queues, just to taste its ice cream.
They were not wrong of course!
2. Mor Anna
My favorite bakery in the world. They make the BEST carrot cake! You need to buy at least 5 of them!
3. Yogo Aarhus
If you want a frozen yogurt just enjoy it there. You can pack it with everything your heart desires. You pay according to how much it weights.
4. Baresso Coffee Shop
There are more than one around Aarhus, and if you plan staying there take their stamp card for drinks. After some you get one free. Great for coffee junkies (or magnificent warm chocolate for junkies like me!)
But we are talking about food here. So with your coffee, don't forget to buy one of their fresh snacks. They are perfect for a small breakfast, to keep you on your feet for a while longer.
5. Dolce Vita, in the mall of the train station
I know I keep talking about sweets, I promise it's the last one. The ice cream and the milkshakes in there are just heaven sent! I tried to taste most of the flavours, but I wasn't even close...
6. Dalle Valle
There is also one in Copenhagen.
It's one of these places where you pay a fixed price and you eat until you burst!
Tip: Watch out for the offers! It is more worth it if you go in the afternoon, when the food is cheaper!
7. The Burger Shack
For me it was a really expensive burger house, but apparently for the rest of Europe was quite normal to give more than 10 euros for a quite normal burger... (If you ever come to Greece you will leave at least 10 kilos heavier. Check our Suggestions for where to eat in Greece!) Anyway, still it was quite nice, especially the offer to enjoy a dring across the street in Tir Na Nóg, the irish pub.
8. Aarhus Street Food
Be careful it closes quite early (Around 21:00, exactly at the time of my dinner)! It has so many places to try! One of them it should be the Danes traditional food.
If the weather is nice sit outside!
9. Vaca-Mexican finger food
It was a different taste. The food was quite good and quite cheap. It was one of the few international restaurants in Denmark that was quite cheap, and at the same time good.
10. What about junk food?!
There is always need for junk food. They are cheap and fast.
My favorite places were:
-Burger King across the train station.
-Pizza Pronta v/Rami Kurdi
-Shawarma King next to Seven Eleven
