Bergen; the city of the seven mountains. For me, the most beautiful and iconic city of Norway. There are so many things I can say about this city...
The second largest city in Norwegian territories. A longtime cultural and economical place standing between cold fjords, deep Atlantic waters and surrounding big white mountains.
The only advice which was given to me was "Maria, take an umbrella! " I said ok. My big umbrella and my waterproof boots were ready for battle. But Bergen mocked me. Four days of happy hot sun! Suprising thing even for the locals. Of course this was a big opportunity for exploration!
It was impossible to see all of the city but I tried to see as much as I could. I thought to check from a high spot would help me understand Bergen. The famous funicular, Fløibanen, was my mean of transport for the way up until the top of the famous mountain Fløyen. What can I say about this view. Maybe the best view in my whole trip! Absolute quiet, total peace, just you and the view. The only thing you can do is to take a few seconds to get used to that beauty. The city under your feet and the fjords surrounding the landscape like a big hug until the big blue ocean as far as your eye can see.
I was never really into physics and science, until I visited the Science Center of Bergen. One of the most interesting places you can visit for entertainment combined with education for the compelling world of natural sciences, phenomena and technology! You can visit this along with the Bergen Aquarium.
For the first time in my life I had the opportunity to feed the marine life, to meet a gay couple of penguins and to come face to face with white sharks behind a thick glass-wall. The Aquarium was beautiful but the time was late and fortunately I missed the bus. Otherwise I wouldn't have the chance to walk inside the narrow neighborhoods and seeing the little cute houses into the twilight which trying to turn into night without success.
One thing is certain, I will go back there in the most beautiful Norwegian city.
